FTM file. 

The Fort Thomas Board of Education met on Monday, September 12th.  The meeting was called to order at 6:42 pm and all members were present.

This month’s Student Showcase featured Johnson Elementary children presenting on technology integration and the use of their new iPads. FTM will highlight these students in another story forthcoming.

Jerry Wissman gave the board an update on the current status of the HHS renovation project, noting that all remaining work has been reviewed with Century and no further pay applications would be processed until work on the project is completed.

A motion passed to grant re-approval of the revised plan for the HHS gymnasium renovation in the amount of $5,885,426.00.  This motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Wissman also shared that renovations at Moyer Elementary are progressing as planned.  A motion was passed unanimously to approve a payment of $25,268.00 for the project, and another in the amount of $30, 476.00.  Approval of pay application in the amount of $715,462.00 to Morel Construction passed unanimously, as well.

An approval to purchase a John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle for the HHS campus passed unanimously. 

Approval of the law firm of O’Hara, Ruberg, Taylor, Sloan and Sergent to provide legal counsel passed unanimously. 

The working budget for 2016-2017 passed unanimously, as well as the approval of the KDE District Assurances for 2016-2017.

Ginger Webb presented the ACT report, noting that the class of 2016 has set a school record with an ACT score of 24.7.  Go Bluebirds!
