The alliance is an advocacy group that focuses on regional unity, health and education. The 2030 plan lays out the organization’s goals for the region, including ways to attract workers and businesses, increase efficiency of public services and align education and employment, among other goals.

The summit itself was designed to bring together leaders from key institutions and businesses to discuss ideas and strategies. The event took place at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger.

“The ideas and perspectives shared at this year’s summit will help inform our priorities and strengthen accountability as we move toward 2030 and beyond,” said Karen Finan, president and CEO of OneNKY Alliance.

Some of the priorities laid out in the strategic plan include:

  • Increasing public service efficiency
  • Increasing student success, especially in the river cities
  • Developing industrial land
  • Stimulating entrepreneurship
  • Shaping a single regional narrative
  • Improving public transit and other transportation options
  • Promoting the region as competitive in the global marketplace
  • Improving the convention center
  • Addressing housing shortages
  • Improving public health services
