Barleycorn’s Brewhouse is marking the second anniversary of its beer benefiting Disabled American Veterans with the release of a new lager and expanded availability at Northern Kentucky retailers.
The Wilder-based brewery first introduced Valiant in 2024 to raise money and awareness for DAV, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans and their families. Since then, the beer has expanded beyond the brewery to retail stores throughout the region.
“Valiant has always been about more than making a great beer,” said Shane Trego, brewmaster at Barleycorn’s Brewhouse in a news release. “It’s our way of saying thank you to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
The new Valiant American Amber Lager will be available beginning Nov. 6, ahead of Veterans Day. Ten percent of the retail purchase price from qualifying sales will benefit DAV.
Barleycorn’s is also sponsoring the annual DAV 5K on Nov. 7 at The Banks in downtown Cincinnati. The event allows participants to walk, run, roll or ride to raise money for veterans.
Valiant will be available during the event weekend at Jefferson Social, Tin Roof and Cincinnati Lager House, all located at The Banks.
The beer will also be sold at 10 participating Northern Kentucky Kroger stores and several local retailers, including Good Spirits locations in Taylor Mill, Independence and Crescent Springs; Bluegrass Carryout in Highland Heights; Party Town; Spear Ridge General Stores; Liquor Barn; and The Party Source.
Valiant will be available on draft and in cans at Barleycorn’s Brewhouse, located at 402 Licking Pike in Wilder. It will also be offered on draft at Barleycorn’s locations in Cold Spring, Florence and Lakeside Park, as well as Pompilio’s in Newport. Three Spirits Tavern in Bellevue will carry the beer in cans.
