The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. Starting next week, the poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.
Going from Class 6A on down to 1A, eight northern Kentucky teams made their respective top 10’s. Ryle is at No. 6 in the 6A poll, Simon Kenton at No. 10. Cooper and Highlands come in at 2-3 in the 5A poll while Covington Catholic is No. 6 in 4A. Beechwood is No. 2 in the 2A poll with Newport Central Catholic fifth and Newport 10th in the 1A poll. Dixie Heights (5A), Lloyd Memorial (3A), Ludlow (1A) and Bishop Brossart (1A) are in the others receiving votes category for their respective class.
