Former Kenton County Planning Commissioner and Treasurer Phil Ryan was honored for his service on Thursday.
Ryan retired earlier this year after serving on the commission since 2003.
“He attended 209 Kenton County Planning Commission meetings, plus countless committee meetings,” said Planning Commission Chair Brian Dunham. “On top of all of that, he served on the subdivision plat review committee, on our executive committee, served as our treasurer for well over a decade and also served as chair of our social media committee for many, many years.”
The planning commission honored him with a plaque to commemorate his service.
“It’s been a joy and a pleasure serving with everybody,” said Ryan. “It’s a very professional group of people. I like the diversity of the commission — engineers, attorneys, and common lay people. It’s just been a real pleasure throughout the years. And to see where the commission was in 2003 to where it is now, I think it’s in a far better place.”
Ryan served as the appointee for Park Hills while on the commission. Park Hills’ new commissioner is Mike Conway.
