The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra will hold three free outdoor concerts over Labor Day weekend as part of its annual Summer Series.
The concerts will close out the Summer Series annual programming, which will feature 18 songs from the 1950s through the 2010s. The program focuses on popular music about the United States and includes songs associated with artists such as The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, James Brown, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz and Miley Cyrus.
The orchestra’s Boogie Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5, at Devou Park in Covington, followed by a 7:30 p.m. performance Sept. 6, at Tower Park in Fort Thomas. A third concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 7, at Woodside Arboretum in Middletown, Ohio.
Attendees are allowed to bring lawn chairs, blankets and food. Concessions will be available at Devou Park, while food trucks are scheduled for the Tower Park performance. Free ice cream will be available at Woodside Arboretum.
Registration is encouraged for weather updates and other event information but is not required.
