The Dixie Heights girls basketball team (21-7) hit the road to Louisville to take on the All “A” 6th Region champion and All “A” state semifinalist Whitefield Academy Wildcats (20-6) and came back with a 58-43 victory.
The Colonels saw three players score in double figures. Senior guard Ella Steczynski made seven three-pointers on her way to 25 points. Senior guard Sammy Berman and freshman guard Coralee Pelfrey followed with 13 and 11 respectively.
Dixie Heights plays host to Holmes (4-18) on Monday at 6 p.m.

Cooper 72, Newport Central Catholic 53
The Jaguars (23-3) completed a 9-0 record in regular season against 9th Region opponents with the road win against the Thoroughbreds (15-9).
Nine different Jaguars scored. Senior forward Whitney Lind led the way with 16 points and junior guard Liz Freihofer scored 14. Eighth grade guard Haylee Noel and junior forward Logan Palmer scored 13 each.
NewCath sophomore guard Caroline Eaglin came into the game averaging 25.2 points per game. She finished with 32 as six different Thoroughbreds scored. No one else had more than seven.
Both teams conclude the regular season Friday. Cooper plays host to Owen County (18-7) at 7:30 p.m. NewCath plays host to Great Crossing (18-11) at 8 p.m.
