Week 3 LINK nky Pick ’em

Week 3 is here!

This year at LINK nky, we decided to add some fun to our coverage. We’re going to do a weekly picks contest with the three of the sports writers (Evan Dennison, Ray Schaefer and Josh Kalb) we have here and throw in a little twist…a guest picker each week. The guest picker will most likely be someone you recognize as a member of our community, whether it be someone who is on the sidelines with us, sports TV personalities, former coaches or players or someone who may not even be entrenched in the sports scene, but still invested in our communities to some capacity.

Last week was a good one for the pickers. Evan and Josh went 9-1, Ray and Mark Wehry went 8-2. Josh has the early lead by a game at 16-4 overall on the season. We throw a college football game in this week and we’ll throw the Bengals in moving forward next week!

Guest picker this week: Mike Dyer

We turn to WCPO’s Mike Dyer this week, the man who has been covering Greater Cincinnati high school football for over two decades now. Mike is entrenched in the football scene and here’s what I like about him most…Yeah, he’s a TV guy, but his passion is for high school sports. That’s not always the case with the TV folks, opting for the big boys instead.

Mike is an Akron native and has served a number of roles covering high school sports that includes reporter, editor and recruiting reporter.
