For the third year in a row, The Wall Street Journal has ranked NKU among the top universities in the country for value, making it the only public university in both the NKY region and Kentucky to make the top 100.
In all, the publication ranked NKU as 62nd out of about 600 schools.
“We are proud to be recognized among the nation’s best values in higher education. As the top-ranked public university in the Commonwealth and our region, this honor reflects our deep commitment to students—providing them with an affordable, high-quality education that prepares them to thrive,” said NKU President Dr. Cady Short-Thompson in a university press release. “This recognition reaffirms the vital role we play in changing lives and the region.”
The announcement comes on the heels of reporting completed by NKU’s student newspaper, The Northerner, which recently obtained internal communications suggesting that some job cuts and other budgetary changes could be looming for the university. You can read their reporting here.
