The Thomas More men’s and women’s basketball teams won their final regular season games at Cumberland on Saturday and now await the NAIA Mid-South Conference tournament.

On the men’s side, the #18-ranked Saints beat Cumberland, 70-65 to improve to 24-6 overall and 11-5 in the conference.

Luke Rudy led the Saints with 18 points while Garren Bertsch and Reid Jolly each scored 13.

Thomas More is the number-three seed in the conference tournament and will play six-seeded Lindsey Wilson in the quarterfinals on Saturday in Bowling Green.

On the women’s side, the Saints needed overtime to put down Cumberland, 78-67.

The #22-ranked Thomas More was led by Zoie Barth with 24 points. Two Saints players racked up double-doubles, with Emily Schultz scoring 16 points and grabbing 15 rebounds, and Kaela Saner putting in 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

Courtney Hurst scored 13 for the Saints. 

With a record of 20-9 overall and 9-7 in the Mid-South, Thomas More is the fourth seed in the conference tournament and will play fifth-seeded Pikeville on Friday in Bowling Green.
