The Thomas More women’s basketball team suffered a setback in Plaiview, Texas on Saturday.

The 20th-ranked Saints fell to the 6th-ranked Wayland Baptist Flying Queens, 92-78.

Thomas More fell behind early, with Wayalnd Baptist taking a 43-25 lead into halftime.

Wayland Baptist extended its lead to 55-33 with 3:19 to play in the third quarter.

The Saints rallied at the end of the third, outscoring the Flying Queens, 13-4, but Wayland Baptist would not let Thomas More any closer, leading by as many as 21 in the fourth.

Thomas More was led by Courtney Hurst with 18 points while Syarra Sellers added 17 and Emily Schultz scored 13.

Thomas More (7-2) heads to Marion, Indiana next Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip-off against Indiana Wesleyan.
