A Thomas More golfer set new scoring records for the university’s men’s golf program over the weekend.
Junior Kyle Alexander shot a record-breaking 9-under par at the University of Pikeville Invitational, and earned an individual medal.
Alexander’s tournament breakdown includes a score of 71, or 1-under par, on Saturday, and a record-breaking 64, or 8-under par, on Sunday.
Part at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonburg, Ky., is 72 and the yardage was 6,885 yards.
Alexander, a native of Spencer County, broke the previous low score records held by Brandon Dulle, who shot a 67 (5-under par) during the 2008-09 season, and Joe Ruzick, who shot a 67 (5-under par) in the 2009-10 season.
