The Covington City Commission has voted to allow their lawyers to take legal action against Duke Energy due to ongoing disagreements over a franchise agreement.

Covington City Commission has approved Owen Electric’s franchise agreement, which will see the company pay the city $4,000 plus 3% gross receipts on a quarterly basis in exchange for the right to construct, repair, install and maintain utility infrastructure on the city’s public right of ways.
