Winners of the last four 9th Region titles met on Tuesday in Union, Covington Catholic defeating Ryle, 3-0. The win moved the Colonels to 6-4-2 on the season while Ryle dropped to 5-7.
CovCath’s goals were scored by Dylan Warner, David Do and Tyler Turnpaugh while Cole Spaulding dished out two assists and Do with the other. Auggie Eilerman put up the clean sheet in goal.
Ryle’s Nicholas Heredia had eight saves in defeat.
