In a clash of the last 14 Ninth Region champions, Highlands and Notre Dame Academy met on Saturday morning in Park Hills.
The Bluebirds took down the Pandas 1-0. Ally Lickert scored the lone goal.
The win gives Highlands a four-match unbeaten streak with three wins and a tie. They started the year 1-4 and now sit at 4-4-1. The three wins have come over Beechwood (4-0), Castle, Indiana (3-1), Notre Dame and a 1-1 tie with Evansville Mater Dei out of Indiana.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Pandas, who dropped to 8-3 on the season.
In the latest Kentucky High School Girls Soccer Coaches Association poll, Notre Dame was ranked No. 2, Highlands was No. 16.
Notre Dame returns to action Wednesday at home against Simon Kenton. Highlands plays at Newport Central Catholic, also on Wednesday.
