Anime fans from across the region will come together for a full day of voice actors, cosplay, collectibles, gaming, artists, vendors and fandom when Anime-Fest comes to Hebron.
Running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the Cincinnati Airport Marriott, 2395 Progress Drive, the one-day convention will give longtime anime viewers, cosplayers, collectors, gamers, families and newer fans a chance to spend the day surrounded by the series and characters they enjoy.
This year’s special guest lineup brings together two veteran anime voice actors: Tiffany Grant and Chuck Huber, whose careers span “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” “Dragon Ball Z,” “Yu Yu Hakusho,” “My Hero Academia,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Soul Eater,” “One Piece,” and numerous other fan-favorite titles.
Event Highlights Include:
- Meet Tiffany Grant: Grant is best known as the English voice of Asuka Langley Soryu in “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” a role she has continued across the Evangelion franchise. Her extensive anime career also includes Nojiko in “One Piece,” Ryoko Subaru in “Martian Successor Nadesico,” Altena in “Noir,” and hundreds of episodes of anime voice and script-adaptation work.
- Meet Chuck Huber: Huber began his anime career voicing Garlic Jr. and Android 17 in “Dragon Ball Z” and has since become known for roles including Hiei in “Yu Yu Hakusho,” Dr. Franken Stein in “Soul Eater,” Shou Tucker in “Fullmetal Alchemist,” Kurogiri in “My Hero Academia,” and Mohji in “One Piece.”
- Anime Vendors and Collectibles: Fans can browse exhibitors offering anime and manga merchandise, toys, video games, apparel, collectibles, candy, artwork, and other pop-culture finds throughout the day.
- Local Artists: Attendees can discover artwork, sketches, prints, and original creations from local artists while supporting independent creators from around the region.
- Cosplay and Fan Culture: Cosplayers are encouraged to attend dressed as favorite anime, manga, gaming, and pop-culture characters and spend the day alongside other fans from across Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.
- An All-Ages Anime Event: Northern KY Anime-Fest is designed for longtime anime fans as well as families, younger attendees, gamers, collectors, and people experiencing their first convention.
General admission is $20. Kids 11 and under are free, one child per paid adult, and additional children are $10 each. Tickets are available online in advance and at the registration desk on the day of the show.
