There’s a brief stretch every year when the region collectively decides it’s time to get lost in a corn maze and spend an unreasonable amount of time choosing the perfect pumpkin.
Luckily, there are plenty of places around Northern Kentucky to lean into fall.
Farms across the region are opening their pumpkin patches, firing up the hayrides and breaking out the cider doughnuts for the season. Whether you’re looking for a full-blown fall festival with corn mazes and farm animals or just want to pick some apples and pumpkins, here are some NKY farms worth visiting this fall.
Neltner’s Farm & Event Venue
6922 Four Mile Road, Melbourne, KY
Campbell County’s Neltner’s Farm hosts its fall fest Sept. 25 through Oct. 31.
The farm offers a pumpkin patch, three-plus-acre corn maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, petting zoo, kids’ corn pit, barrel train and model train display. Weekends also bring live music, food, craft vendors and wine tastings.
Sugar Ridge Family Farm

Sugar Ridge Family Farm gives Boone County families a close-to-home option for traditional fall activities.
The Walton farm offers pumpkins, wagon rides, mazes, play areas and other seasonal attractions during its fall season.
McGlasson Farms

Set along River Road in western Boone County, McGlasson Farms is a good pick for visitors looking for more of a traditional farm-market experience.
The family farm offers apples, pumpkins and other seasonal produce, with its location overlooking the Ohio River Valley adding to the fall atmosphere.
Kinman Farm Market

Kinman Farm Market’s Fall Fest runs Fridays through Sundays from Sept. 26 through Oct. 31.
Admission includes a hayride, corn maze, barnyard, jumping pillow, children’s train and other activities, making it one of Boone County’s larger fall farm experiences.
