The 9th Region scoring king has found his new college home.
Holy Cross alum Jacob Meyer announced his decision to commit to Georgia State on Tuesday night, transferring from Alabama-Birmingham.
Georgia State will be Meyer’s fourth college in four years. He started at Coastal Carolina, then went to DePaul and continued his path to UAB. He’s now back in the Sun Belt Conference with the Panthers.
He’s scored 1,127 points in his first three college seasons. After a freshman season at Coastal Carolina in which he posted 15.7 points per game, Meyer put up 8.9 a game at DePaul. He followed that with 12.4 points per game at UAB this past season. He’s a career 42% shooter from the field and 35% from the 3-point line. He pulls down 3.8 rebounds per game with 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals per contest.
In his past season at UAB, the 6-foot-2 junior guard started 25 games, averaging 12.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
At Holy Cross, Meyer led the state in scoring his junior and senior seasons. He poured in 36.8 points per game while also pulling down 8.4 rebounds per game in his senior year. Meyer was named the All “A” Classic MVP, the Indians finishing runner-up as he scored 49 points. He set an All “A” record with 157 points in four games at the tournament and finished his career with 3,233 points, the most for anyone out of the 9th Region.
Georgia State is coming off a 10-22 season in which they bowed out of the Sun Belt Conference tournament in the first round. They finished 7-11 in conference play. Meyer joins Richmond transfer David Thomas for their 2026 transfer class so far.
