The Notre Dame Pandas shot 52% from the field in an impressive 78-40 victory at Grant County on Monday.
Notre Dame had four players reach double figures. Emma Holtzapfel led the way scoring 15 points and Kate Resing scored 13. Kendra Collins and Ryan Burden followed scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Notre Dame (17-5) has won three of the last four games. The Pandas host Beechwood on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
Newport Central Catholic 52, St. Ursula (Ohio) 51
Jaylee Brannen’s 3-pointer in the closing seconds of overtime proved to be the game winner as NewCath edged the Ohio opponent on The Hill. It was the Thoroughbreds third straight victory.
Caroline Eaglin scored 21 points to lead NewCath and Brannen made three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points.
NewCath (17-7) travels to Holy Cross on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Highlands 59, Bracken County 40
Saylor Macke hit three 3-pointers on the way to 15 points to lead the host Bluebirds to the victory.
Kaylee Mills added 12 for Highlands with Marissa Green and Maren Orme scoring nine points each.
Highlands (16-7) travels to Lloyd Memorial on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Simon Kenton 68, North Oldham 37
The inside-out tandem of Haylie Webb and Brynli Pernell outscored the Mustangs alone with 22 and 19 points, respectively, as the Pioneers rolled on the road.
Anna Kelch added 10 points as Simon Kenton moved to 5-1 against 8th Region opponents.
Simon Kenton (16-7) hosts Boone County on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Holmes 48, Williamstown 36
The Bulldogs snapped their 17-game losing streak with their second win of the season.
India Tye led Holmes with 24 points and Anjali Faehr scored 11.
Holmes (3-22) travels to Robertson County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Boys Basketball
St. Henry 73, Holmes 52
The Crusaders pulled away behind 18 points from Caden Kunstek.
Drew Flanagan followed with 14 points for St. Henry. Carson Shea and Brady Shea added nine points each.
Mark McCutchin scored 19 points to lead Holmes. Joe Meyer and Dominic Scott followed with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
St. Henry (8-12) travels to Lloyd Memorial on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Holmes (1-14) travels to Bracken County on Thursday at 7 p.m.
