The Dixie Heights Colonels girls basketball team (10-5) knocked off the visiting East Central (Indiana) Trojans, 64-46.
Senior Sammy Berman continued to lead the way scoring 19 points on three triples with senior guard Ella Steczynski scoring 16 and freshman guard Aubrey Elkins scoring 14. Junior forward Abby Thelen added nine as seven different Colonels scored.
Dixie Heights made 51 percent of its shots including 46 percent from three-point range and 82 percent from the free-throw line to go with 23 rebounds. Freshman guard Coralee Pelfrey led the Colonels with nine rebounds.
Dixie Heights plays host to St. Henry (8-6) on Friday at 7 p.m. in a 34th district battle.

The Eagles (5-11) downed the visiting Bulldogs (0-12) for their second straight win.
Scott shot 55 percent from the field to go with 25 rebounds. Junior guard Dylan Giffen led Scott with 23 points with senior guard Brayden Howell and junior point guard Jon Evans scoring 17 and 12, respectively.
Holmes plays at Covington Catholic (12-2) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Scott plays host to Lloyd Memorial (7-4) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

9th Region All “A” Classic Quarterfinals at Beechwood
Ludlow 73, Dayton 54
Ludlow (11-5) is headed to Friday’s 9th Region All “A” semifinals after a 19-point victory over Dayton (4-10) on Wednesday night at Beechwood.
Jaxson Rice led the Panthers charge with 27 points as Ludlow knocked down 59 percent of their shots in the victory. Ludlow owned the glass, winning the rebounding battle 49-31 as Elijah Perrin pulled down 17 rebounds and scored nine points. Ethan Powell finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Dayton was led by Mason Johnson’s 20 points.
Holy Cross 88, Heritage Academy 47
Holy Cross (9-5) started their 9th Region All “A” Classic tournament title defense with a convincing win over Heritage Academy (8-5) on Wednesday at Beechwood.
The Indians made it look easy by shooting 68 percent from the field and owning the glass with a 36-12 rebounding edge. Jacob Meyer paced the Indians with 23 points, also getting solid contributions from Luke Arlinghaus with 15 points, Javier Ward adding 14 and Carson Reinersman tossing in 10. Arlinghaus drained five 3-pointers while William McElheney grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, Sam Gibson with seven.
Landon Warner led the Eagles with 17 points, adding seven rebounds. Jackson Mark had eight, Tyler Warner adding six.
Holy Cross and Ludlow meet in Friday’s semifinals at 7:45 p.m. Newport and St. Henry square off in the other semifinal at 6 p.m.
The championship is Saturday at 7 p.m., all games played at Beechwood.
