While there won’t be any organized festivities at the Newport Festival Park this year, visitors can still enjoy the Cincy Blast fireworks from Newport’s riverfront. 

To help make the experience both safe and enjoyable, the Newport Police Department gathered information regarding event regulations and public safety within the Festival Park area, Festival, E Park Dr. The fireworks display will kick off at 10 p.m. and will end at approximately 10:26 p.m. on July 3.

To maintain safety and order during the event, the Newport Police Department asks attendees to adhere to the following rules:

Prohibited items: Coolers, grills, tents, large umbrellas, oversized chairs, alcohol and backpacks are not allowed in Festival Park.

Wheeled conveyances: Roller skates, rollerblades, scooters, motorized vehicles and bicycles are prohibited within the venue area. (Exceptions will be made for mobility devices required by any person with a disability.)

Pets: Pets are not permitted, except for service animals.

Parking: Prohibited parking will be posted by signage and will be enforced.

Drones and devices: Drones, remote-controlled electronics, flying objects, laser pointers and light-emitting devices are not allowed.

Soliciting: No soliciting without a valid vendor’s license issued by the city of Newport.

Bridge and road closures: Thru traffic will be restricted on Columbia between 3rd Street and Riverboat Row. Residents of the Flats on the Row, guests of the Hampton Inn, and Newport Aquarium employees will be permitted. B&B Riverboats guests and employees will be permitted with passes. Pagan’s Path on the Purple People Bridge will be open to pedestrian traffic.

Arrival and departure: Expect delays when leaving due to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Attire and safety: Dress for the weather and consider hearing protection for small children due to the loud fireworks.
