Turned Away for His Record, Now He’s Opening Doors: QuickPro Staffing
Becomes Ohio’s First Recovery Friendly Staffing Agency
Certified Recovery Friendly at the county, state and national levels, QuickPro wants every Ohioan
in recovery or with a record to know their first call for a job
CINCINNATI — October 28, 2026 — Aaron Laine knows what it’s like to apply for a job and be thrown out because of his record. A five-time convicted felon who has been sober since December 20, 2016, he spent his early recovery watching doors close before anyone learned who he had become. Today he’s the Business Development Manager at QuickPro Staffing, the first staffing agency in Ohio to be certified as a Recovery Friendly Workplace by Hamilton County, the State of Ohio and the National Recovery Friendly Workplace Institute.

The national designation became official on October 12, 2026. Laine oversees Pathways, QuickPro’s Recovery Friendly and Fair Chance hiring program.
Pathways connects people in recovery and people with criminal records to employers ready to judge them by their work, not their past. Second-chance staffing agencies exist, but none are built like QuickPro: its team understands addiction and recovery firsthand, and it holds Recovery Friendly Workplace designations at the
county, state and national levels. QuickPro’s goal is to grow across the country so people in recovery can find work wherever they live.

“Some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met are in recovery,” said Aaron Laine.
Laine’s own turning point came in December 2016. He was hiding in his mother’s closet from police when a judge gave him one more chance at treatment. One night in treatment, a song on the radio told him he was worth something. He went on to Ohio Media School, worked on-air at Cumulus Media’s Cincinnati stations, and in 2018 launched the Tragedy to Triumph podcast about life before, during and after addiction.

His message is simple: treatment saves lives, and employment gives people purpose, so they can keep what they’ve earned and go on to do even more amazing things.

“Years ago someone took a chance on me, and now I’m in a position to do the same for others,”
said Aaron Laine.

Employers win too. Recovery Friendly hiring widens the talent pool, supports retention, and may qualify businesses for tax credits such as the Work Opportunity Tax CredIt.

QuickPro places workers in light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, driver, office/clerical and skilled labor jobs, and in healthcare through a growing healthcare division focused on behavioral
health.
