Woofie’s®, the mobile pet service franchise known for its mobile pet grooming spa, dog walking and pet sitting services, is featured in an recent episode of Military Makeover with Montel®. The episode highlights the transformation of the home of U.S. Army Veteran Matthew Dawson, his family, and their cherished rescue dog in Lake Worth, Florida.
As part of the renovation and family support effort Woofie’s of East Louisville Franchise Owner Michael LeMire; Woofie’s Co-Founder and President, Amy Addington, and Woofie’s Palm Beach–Jupiter Franchise Owner Lisa Werner Stoller, treat the Dawson’s family dog Luna, a two-year-old German Shepherd-Husky mix to a fresh groom in the Woofie’s mobile pet spa as the home makeover takes place. LeMire is the first of several veteran-owned franchisees for the Woofie’s brand. A disabled veteran, Mike spent 26 years on active duty in the Army, then eight years as an instructor in strategic leadership for the U.S Army Sergeants Major Academy and three years in federal civilian service at GoodFellow Air Force Base as Chief of Faculty and Staff Development, before moving to Kentucky.
Hosted by veteran and television personality Montel Williams, Military Makeover with Montel brings together companies, nonprofits, and volunteers to help transform the homes and lives of veterans and their families. Woofie’s involvement reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting military families and the pets who are often central to their well-being. Woofie’s team members from across the brand’s franchises also volunteered to assist with the home transformation.
U.S. Army Veteran Matthew Dawson served as an infantryman and rose to rank of sergeant before being medically retired. His service included deployments to Iraq from 2009 to 2010 and Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012, where he survived a grenade blast. Today, Dawson continues to manage the lasting effects of his service while working as a foreman at a custom welding and fabrication shop and raising his family alongside his partner, Christina Jacome.
