The City of Florence Administration Department is proud to announce the launch of the first-ever Mayor’s Academy, a hands-on civic education program designed to give participants an inside look at how local government operates.

The Mayor’s Academy will be held on Thursdays from 6:00–8:00 p.m., February 12 through March 19, 2026, and is open to Florence residents, business owners, and community members age 18 and older. Participants will engage directly with the Mayor and city department leaders, tour city facilities, and explore the daily operations of the Administration Department and other city departments. The program provides a unique opportunity to see how decisions are made, services are delivered, and the city operates every day.
