The Ridge Ohio Expands Access to Critical Addiction Treatment
Open House & Ribbon Cutting June 24 with
Former SAMHSA Director as Guest Speaker
The Ridge Ohio is expanding its residential program to meet growing demand—particularly among healthcare professionals and working adults. The Ridge invites the community to an Open House and Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, June 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 4560 State Route 222, Batavia, Ohio 45103.
This expansion adds five additional private rooms, bringing The Ridge’s total capacity to 32. More than a facilities upgrade, the project marks a significant investment in the region’s behavioral health infrastructure.
The $1.5 million expansion adds 4,800 square feet to The Ridge’s Batavia campus, including a new multipurpose center for educational programming, experiential activities, and clinical lectures. The project also creates expanded office space to support a growing behavioral health team and will generate 10 new full-time jobs in the region. Designed to meet rising demand, the development is expected to reduce waiting times and increase access to care.
“Our expansion reflects both the growing demand for addiction treatment and our long-term commitment to building lasting wellness in Ohio,” said Stacy Klousiadis, CEO of The Ridge Ohio. “With this expansion we’re investing in people, programming, and infrastructure that will strengthen our community for years to come.”
The event will feature special guest Paolo del Vecchio, M.S.W., former Director of the Office of Recovery at the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), who has over 30 years of experience shaping national mental health and addiction policy. He will join Medical Director Dr. Wendy Soto and The Ridge’s leadership team to offer opportunities to discuss timely issues, including:
• The rise in substance misuse among physicians, nurses, and frontline healthcare workers
• How The Ridge is adapting to modern behavioral health challenges.
• Addressing the overlooked crisis of alcohol use disorder.
• Why individualized, medically grounded care is key to sustained recovery.
“Healthcare professionals are struggling silently across the country,” said Dr. Soto. “At The Ridge, we’re not just providing treatment—we’re creating a culture of dignity, privacy, and support for professionals who often put themselves last.”
The expansion comes at a time of heightened awareness about burnout, depression, and addiction among medical professionals. A 2024 study from the Physicians Foundation found that over 27% of residents and early-career physicians reported increased alcohol or drug use in the past year. The Ridge is one of the few programs in Ohio specializing in discreet, high-quality care for professionals navigating these challenges.
