CINCINNATI (April 1, 2024) – Main Street Ventures – an entrepreneur support organization providing equity-free funding, community connections and programming for startups across the Tri-State region – is excited to announce that its Inventure Entrepreneurship Academy for high school students will be returning for the third year.
This program provides an immersive experience to high school students interested in entrepreneurship. It introduces the entrepreneurial process, and students will develop and learn how to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, problem-solve, generate ideas, and develop their ideas into business models.
“With Inventure Entrepreneurship Academy, high school students gain firsthand the skills essential for building a business,” said Main Street Ventures Executive Director, Sean Parker. “It’s one thing to have a great idea, it’s another to take it to the next step of creating a business plan, and then the step after that, and the step after that. With this program – now in its third year – we provide students the chance to learn from local startup experts providing them with a solid foundation to take those steps of transforming innovative concepts into real-life businesses.”
The five-day program will take place June 24-28 at the 1819 Innovation Hub at the University of Cincinnati. Startup leaders, professors and business experts will share their knowledge and experiences with the students to help them build upon their business ideas. At the conclusion of the program, participating teams will pitch their ventures for the opportunity to win prize money, which can be put towards building the business.
Online registration is now available at mainstventures.org/inventure. The program is open to rising freshmen through senior high school students in Hamilton County. Participation is $20 and is limited to the first 50 students who register. Applications close on May 31. Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
