Americans should limit the screen time on their phones to two hours at most. A recent survey by Harmony Healthcare IT shows that the average American spends over 4 hours staring at his phone screen every day. This adds up to 1 day every week, 70 days every year, and 12 years of his lifetime spent looking at his phone.
We don’t realize what a waste this is, when 1/5 of our lifetime is absorbed by the latest YouTube or spent battling it out on Fortnite. Life is short. Let’s stop staring at screens and actually converse with our families and friends.
My grandparents tell stories of walking into the doctor’s office and actually talking with the people waiting their turns. Now, they see only a row of people with their heads bent over their phones. Our phones have stolen our hearts.
Let’s drop our phones and accomplish something active and useful. If Americans minimize their screen time, we will quickly see improvement in every aspect of our lives.
