Nicholas Justice, a 45-year-old man from New Boston, a city in Scioto County, Ohio, was killed Wednesday night in a traffic crash, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the site of the incident on Westbound I-275 in Hebron at 11:28 p.m. Wednesday night—the same evening severe weather tore across the region.

Justice had been standing in the highway, according to the sheriff’s office. He was struck by a semi owned by UPS. He died on his way to UC Medical Center. No one else, including the truck’s driver, suffered injuries.

“Preliminary contributing factors in the collision include severe weather and limited
visibility, as well as Justice standing in the travel portion of the highway for reasons that cannot be confirmed at this time,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
