LINK nky relies on support from readers like you, but there area many ways to support us that don't cost money. Photo provided | Markus Winkler

I have five kids. That’s a lot of shoes to buy and lunches to pay for and birthday parties to purchase gifts for.

Which is why I always struggle when I see giving campaigns for organizations I find important. If I happen to have a few dollars or can set up a regular monthly payment, I will, but what if I don’t?

That’s why I love our End-of-Year Giving Campaign here at LINK, which is celebrating the idea that support looks different for everyone.

I know my boss might kill me for saying this, but if you just can’t afford to support us financially, but you still want to help, there are ways to do so.

Simply clicking on a link or even sharing it via email or on your social media accounts supports us. How? It helps drive more audience to our products, which makes more advertisers want to advertise with us.

Not only does sharing an important story on social media help get the word out about how to give feedback at a city meeting, for example, it plays a part in bringing more people into the LINK nky community.

And that ensures that Northern Kentucky will continue to have a strong, independent local news source in the years to come. Click here to understand more about where our money comes from and how we spend it.

Of course, if you want to donate, we would love that (see, Lacy?! I was going to get there eventually).

You can donate directly to the NKY Community Journalism Fund with either a one-time donation or a recurring one.

You can join LINK nky’s Community Ownership program, which makes you a shareholder in LINK nky. (Here’s the difference between a donation and Community Ownership.)

You can subscribe to our weekly print newspaper, the LINK Reader, for just $50 a year.

Every single one of these actions helps LINK keep telling Northern Kentucky’s story.

Including the options that don’t require you to spend money: Bookmark our website and check it every morning. Subscribe to our Daily LINK newsletter, or one of our topic-based newsletters: The Business LINK, The Sports LINK, and the Arts & Events LINK.

Follow us on Facebook and share stories that you find interesting or inspiring. You can also find us just about everywhere else: Instagram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Blue Sky and YouTube

If you can donate financially, it’ll help ensure LINK nky is here for years to come. But if you can’t, you can still support us in ways that will help keep us around.

Thank you, as always, for reading, but here’s an EXTRA thank you this Giving Tuesday for your support of LINK nky.
