A teenager is in “critical condition” after a shooting late Friday night in the Eastside neighborhood of Covington, the Covington Police Department said.

Police said Saturday that they’re asking for the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Ryan Cupp from Independence. They said Cupp is a person of interest in the shooting.

At around 11:30 p.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 100 block of East 11th Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a teenage victim with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to UC Medical Center, where they are reportedly in critical condition, police said.

“For your safety, do not approach [Cupp]. Please call 911 if you see him,” police said.
