A little before 6 a.m. Tuesday, the body of a drowning victim was recovered from the Licking River in Wilder.
According to a press release from Wilder Police, the victim was attempting to swim from the Covington riverbank to the Wilder side to join two other people swimming in the river.
Witnesses reported, per police, that about halfway across the river, the victim began struggling, went underwater, and did not resurface.
Due to the age of the victim, police said they will not release any more information at this time.
