A crowd of family and friends gathered at the Florence city council meeting on Tuesday to congratulate six firefighters who earned the rank of lieutenant in the Florence Fire/EMS Department.
All six took the oath of office given by Mayor Julie Aubuchon. Chief Rodney Wren introduced each firefighter and noted how long they’ve been with the department. After the oath of office, as is tradition, family was invited to come up and pin lieutenant badges on the recipients.
“Thank you all, and thanks to your families for sharing you with us as part of our family here in the city of Florence,” said Aubuchon.
The Florence firefighters were: Lieutenant EMT Rob Barth, who joined the department in 2007; Lieutenant EMT Matt Craft, who joined in 2019; Lieutenant Paramedic Vince Lanning who joined in 2015; Lieutenant Paramedic Brendan McHugh, who joined in 2016; Lieutenant Paramedic Candice Stewart, who joined in 2020 and Lieutenant EMT Josh Tucker, who also joined in 2020.
