Walton-Verona Independent Public Schools celebrated the grand opening of the district’s new intermediate school, which will serve grades 4 and 5, this weekend.

The school aims to address district overcrowding by removing 4th grade from the elementary school and 5th grade from the middle school. The school hopes to provide “a state-of-the-art learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity and personal growth,” according to a press release from the district. “The new facility features modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, advanced technology integration and enhanced student support services.”

“We were thrilled to celebrate this occasion with our students, families, staff and the entire Walton-Verona community,” said Superintendent Matt Baker in the same press release. “The opening of Walton-Verona Intermediate School represents our district’s continued commitment to providing high-quality education and preparing our students for success in a rapidly evolving world.”
