Updated draft documents for Kenton County’s comprehensive plan are now available for public review on the Kenton County Planning Commission’s website. This draft update follows the previous draft elements that were released in June.
The county comprehensive plan is required to be updated every five years. It serves as a set of recommendations for zoning and development throughout the county. Although many cities have their own zoning regulations, the comprehensive plan serves as a sort of template for cities to follow to ensure development cohesion between the county’s many jurisdictions.
Public service agencies and organizations also use comprehensive plans when setting policies, and the plan itself touches nearly every aspect of public life from transit to housing to economics to the environment.
Early rounds of public input took place over the last few months. The Kenton Planning Commission plans to hold a public hearing on Sept. 5, 2024, to adopt the entire plan.
Members of the public who wish to leave feedback on the plan should email the county’s planning manager at avidekovich@pdskc.org so that their comments may be entered into the public record. Residents can also attend the public hearing to speak to the commission directly.
