An Independence man and woman were killed in a head-on collision on Pride Parkway over the weekend.

According to the Kenton County Police Department, the accident happened a little before 12:30 p.m. on June 23 near the intersection of Pride Parkway and Old Taylor Mill Road.

A car driven by 36-year-old Joey Stiltner of Independence was traveling south on the parkway when the car crossed the median, entered the northbound lanes and hit another car head-on.

Stiltner and his passenger, Kellie Hutchison, 37, also of Independence, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the northbound car were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, where they were treated and released.

The Kenton County Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit’s investigation is ongoing as police work to determine what caused the Hyundai to cross the median into oncoming traffic. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the crash is asked to contact Sergeant Charles Duncan at (859) 392-1955.
