Cleaning, organizing, landscaping and painting projects are just a few of the things Highland Heights 7 Hills Church can do for you this summer during their annual “Heart the City Week.”

This outreach program is taking place June 16—22, and the reasoning behind the program is simple: “to serve the city,” said Highland Heights Seven Hills Pastor Jake Kollmann.

The “Heart the City Week” completes projects in the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky regions.

The Highland Heights location of 7 Hills, located at NKU, which opened last fall, meets every Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m. in the math, education and psychology building on NKU’s campus. The church has two other locations in Kentucky—Dry Ridge and Florence—as well as other locations in Cincinnati.

According to Kollmann, in 2023, the church accumulated over 30,000 hours of outreach and served over 250 organizations.

Kollmann added that the goal of the program is to “complete as many projects as possible across the city in one week,” he said.

Some of the projects completed last year included a ramp for wheelchair access, painting homes and even projects with local schools.

“We plan to do several projects, and currently we’re still working with [NKU] to see what those are [for 2024]. In the past, we bought a refrigerator for a teacher’s lounge. We’ve done some landscaping at NKU and worked with other schools. We love working with schools,” Kollmann said.

Outside of the “Heart the City Week,” 7 Hills Highland Heights Director Erin Kollmann said there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the church.

“We’re all about Jesus, but we’re all about the next generation too. We love welcoming families of all ages. We encourage everyone to ome three times to get to know us,” Kollmann said.
