Fort Thomas Independence Day organizers Linda Slone and Jim Trauth came decked out in their red, white and blue to celebrate and thank the winners.

It’s a clear reminder that summer is coming to a close when Fort Thomas Mayor Eric Haas does his annual presentation of awards to the winners of the city’s Independence Day parade. The winners were announced in July, but the August council meeting is where the city has a chance to award and applaud the year’s winners.

Haas congratulated the winners and the volunteers who bring the ambitious event together.

“Thank you to all the parade participants,” Haas said. “It’s always such a fun time in Fort Thomas, especially when we get great weather like this year…And thank you to Linda Slone and Jim Trauth. You do an awesome job with the parade every single year. We really appreciate your volunteering. Thank you so much.”

The mayor proceeded to hand out the trophies to the winners. The pictures tell the story.

Most Original first place went to Tracy Davis Insurance. Tracy Davis was on hand to take photos of her staff receiving the award and a handshake from Mayor Eric Haas.
Most Original second place went to Chris Rust and family of CR Carving.
Most Entertaining first place was a tie between Bella Dance and the Groove Crew. The Groove Crew came together to receive the award.
