Candidate for: Fort Thomas City Council
Incumbent
For the past two terms serving on the Fort Thomas City Council, Strange said his focus has been simple: thoughtful leadership, responsible spending and protecting the quality of life that makes the community a special place to live.
He said he is seeking a third term to continue that work and to help ensure the city remains strong for future generations.

Strange Arey faces a Fort Thomas City Council primary on May 19 against: Allison Alessandro, Steve Arey, Ken Bowman, Adam Blau, Mary Anne Brown, Brad Fennell, Frances Hoffman, Brandon Long, Lauren McIntosh, Ben Pendery, Huey Pergrem, Brandon Roller, Hunter Schlosser, and Ashley Sullivan.
Strange said he believes city government works best when leaders approach challenges as pragmatic problem solvers. His goal is to evaluate city projects and priorities so that decisions are made with both today’s needs and tomorrow’s opportunities in mind. Every dollar the city spends comes from residents, and Strange said he is committed to ensuring those tax dollars are used wisely.

Fiscal responsibility, Strange said, is essential to maintaining the services and infrastructure the community depends on daily. Careful budgeting and long-term planning help ensure that city investments strengthen the community without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers. Strange believes responsible stewardship of public funds is one of his most important duties.
Transparency in government is equally important, he said.
“Residents deserve clear information about how decisions are made, how projects are prioritized and how their tax dollars are being spent,” Strange said. “Open communication and accountability help build trust between city leadership and the community we serve.”
Public safety is one of his highest priorities. Supporting Fort Thomas police, fire and emergency services, he said, ensures the city remains a safe place for families and businesses.
