The night before Thanksgiving is an unofficial American holiday, similar to Super Bowl Sunday.
Infamously known as “Blackout Wednesday,” the night is a time of reconnecting with old friends and a high probability of consuming alcohol. In Northern Kentucky, restaurants and bars are preparing for next Wednesday. Here at LINK nky, we decided to make a list of the places to visit.
302 Court St., Covington
The beloved Covington bourbon and barbeque bar is hosting live music along with their Wednesday bourbon social. From 4 to 9 p.m. patrons can socialize about their favorite bourbons while the bar’s Bourbon Club members will enjoy their pour of the month. Then, rock-n-blues band, The Chuck Brisbin Trio are performing live from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Cock and Bull Mainstrasse
601 Main St., Covington
Mainstrasse’s British-American pub is hosting a Delirium Tremens pint night from 6 p.m. until close. Besides grabbing a pint, Cock and Bull is offering $3 late-night specials.
Braxton Brewing, Covington Taproom
27 W. 7th St., Covington
One of Northern Kentucky’s most iconic breweries is inviting everyone to grab your hometown crews and head down to Covington for what they call the “biggest drinking night of the year.” Braxton’s Drinksgiving will last from 6 to 10 p.m. at their Covington Taproom and will feature various drink specials.
Bircus Brewing Company
322 Elm St., Ludlow
The circus-themed brewery in Ludlow is hosting live music the night before Thanksgiving. The Drysdales, a band that plays Americana and British Invasion-inspired music, will take the stage at Bircus starting at 7:30 p.m. The event lasts until 11:30. General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door while VIP tickets are available in advance to guarantee a seat. General admission seating is first come so Bircus is encouraging people to get there early.
JerZee’s Pub and Grub
708 Monmouth St., Newport
This Newport bar is hosting Acoustic Wednesdays from 7 to 10 p.m. on their acoustics stage. Patrons will get to drink beer, cocktails and eat pub food while enjoying live acoustic performances.
Brothers Bar & Grill
1 Levee Way #2126, Newport
This Newport on the Levee hotspot is offering multiple food and drink deals. Patrons can get 40¢ wings from 9 p.m. until they run out. The deal is available only for dine-in customers only. For drinks, patrons can get $3.50 Miller Lite/Coors Light Bottles, $4 double Captain & Cokes and $5 Vegas Bombs.
Three Spirits Tavern

Think you have what it takes to step on stage and sing? Three Spirits Tavern in Bellevue is hosting a Drinksgiving karaoke night from 6 to 10 p.m. There will also be a DJ and various drink specials.
Olde Fort Pub
1041 S. Ft Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas
The Olde Fort Pub in Fort Thomas is always a hot spot to go the night before Thanksgiving, with dozens of people filtering through the bar. It’s not an uncommon sight to see their bar room full on that Wednesday. Patrons will be treated to beer, cocktails, shots and meetups with old friends.

This Alexandria brewery is hosting a night of live music from local band Gary Bertsch & The Blamers starting at 6:30 p.m. Patrons will be treated to the brewery’s wide selection of craft beers, arcade games and food.
