Applications for Covington’s Neighborhood Grant Program will open next month.
The program invites the city’s neighborhood groups to earn up to $5,000 in grant funding for community improvement projects. It’s organized in partnership with the city and the Center for Great Neighborhoods.
The application window will run from Nov. 16 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 15. There is a total of $36,000 available for grants this fiscal year.
Applicants must submit information about the community need they wish to address and how their project will address it. Before submitting their applications, groups must schedule a meeting or phone call with The Center for Great Neighborhoods, which will listen to the project idea and offer guidance on submitting an application.
Once the application is submitted, a committee of city staff members and Center for Great Neighborhoods staff will review proposals using the program’s scoring criteria. Programs will then be forwarded to the Covington Board of Commissioners, who will issue final approval or denial.
