Greater Cincinnati Foundation’s role is to inspire generous people to invest in a more vibrant and equitable region. We bring impact home by addressing the region’s most critical challenges and creating an opportunity-rich environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
Not sure what a community foundation is? A community foundation is a charitable organization with a focus on improving the lives of community members in a defined region.
Community Foundations are unique in the way they operate. Think of Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) like a span of bridges, connecting donors, business, nonprofit and government to solve issues facing the community. Unlike most nonprofit organizations, community foundations can simultaneously raise funds from donors, grant dollars to the community, and partner with the public and private sectors to accomplish large-scale and complex projects, such as building affordable housing or making social impact investments in minority-owned businesses.
With over 60 years of experience, GCF has the expertise necessary to comprehend our region’s large-scale issues and design solutions with a bird’s eye view. That means greater access to healthcare, affordable housing, green space, arts and culture, education and more for everyone.
Since 1963, GCF has granted over $1.55 billion to uplift our community. These grants have been transformational to the region, supporting a wide range of community goals.
The scope of work under GCF’s umbrella is vast because that is what meeting the needs of our community requires.
This crucial work is only made possible by generous donors who recognize the value of GCF and want to amplify the impact of their dollar. Plus, GCF is an expert in taxwise strategies, creating a win-win! Are you ready to fuel impactful change in your community? Learn more here.
