Highland Heights City Council introduced a new quick-service, high-protein smoothie bar, Better Blend, at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Better Blend, a smoothie franchise, will be taking over the former St. Elizabeth Express Care located at 2891 Alexandria Way, which sits right off 1-471. The business hopes to bring better access to health-conscious foods in Highland Heights.

“This is a quick-service, healthy and nutritional substitute that you can take up and run with that’s truly having a positive impact,” said Corbin Bailey, a commercial real estate agent and Better Blend co-owner.

Better Blend will feature over 45 blends of different smoothies to choose from, along with four acai bowl blends.

Mayor Greg Meyers welcomes the new business to Highland Heights, stating how the storefront has sat empty for the past few years.

“It will have good visibility from the highway, and you can stop and get a smoothie for your health, Meyers said. “You never want to see an empty storefront in your city, so I’m really excited to have this new storefront and it serves a purpose for the people.”

The proposed location will join other Better Blend Franchises that have popped up across Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. The business hasn’t confirmed an opening date yet, said Bailey.
