The Alexandria City Council is looking to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of council member Susan Vanlandingham.
The city will be taking applications to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term, which ends on Dec. 31. Applications must be submitted to the city by Thursday, April 25, at 4 p.m. All applicants are invited to the May 2 council meeting to speak, but it is not necessary.
The council will announce the selected person at the end of the meeting after an executive session.
