The data website HomeSnacks released its list of the best and worst places to live in Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky cities find themselves on both ends of the spectrum.
The site analyzed cities with populations of 5,000 or more, and examined criteria including median home values, median income, population density (with higher density ranked as better), unemployment rate, commute time, crime, education levels, health insurance coverage, and poverty rates. Sources for those criteria include the U.S. Census Bureau and FBI Crime Data.
The website ranked Edgewood as the best place to live in Kentucky and noted that places within a 15-minute drive of Villa Hills are the most desirable in the state.
On the opposite end, out of 75 cities evaluated, HomeSnacks ranked Newport as 71 and Covington as 64.

Two Northern Kentucky cities classified by HomeSnacks as “towns” for having populations between 1,000 and 5,000 also made the top ten list for towns. Crestview Hills and Lakeside Park were ranked ninth and tenth, respectively.
