The City of Covington resumed its new tradition of weekly ribbon-cuttings with its first of 2016.
Â
On Friday, city officials, including Mayor Sherry Carran, headed to South Covington to celebrate the growth and success of Indy Honeycomb, an AS/ISO certified manufacturer and supplier of welded metallic honeycomb for various industries, including the global aviation and aerospace market.
Â
Originally founded in Indianapolis, Indy Honeycomb Founder and CEO Steve Barnett moved the business to Northern Kentucky, where he was raised.
Â
“We chose Covington for our permanent headquarters because of convenient employee demographics, the site location was in an Enterprise Zone convenient to CVG airport with a comfortable park across the street, and the city officials in Covington were very willing and easy to work together with,” said Barnett.
Â
Now in their 20th year, Indy Honeycomb serves the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) as well as the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) markets on four continents, exporting their American-made products around the world. The company operates at 1016 Mary Laidley Drive.
Â
Indy Honeycomb’s mission is, and always has been, “to make honeycomb easy to buy.” Indy Honeycomb strives to generate process improvement in the market availability of reasonably priced, technically sound products. Their company focuses on product timeliness, professional courtesy, technical competence, and integrity.
Â
Above all, Indy Honeycomb takes pride in their employees.
Â
“We like people to understand that we are a well-organized and clean precision manufacturing company with a strong and positive work environment. We are a responsible community of citizens and our employees enjoy a culture empowered by teams working together,” said Barnett.
