Just days after Linden Grove Cemetery was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation, the Friends of Linden Grove announced yet another $10,000 gift.
Covington residents Marshall and Mary Ann Slagle contributed the gift. The recent monetary awards will go towards the new entryway project.
“Over the years, I have spoken to so many people who wanted to visit the Cemetery and simply couldn’t figure out how to get in. There are thousands of Northern Kentuckians who don’t even know about Linden Grove and have never visited this special place,” said Marshall Slagle, president of the Friends of Linden Grove. “Making this new entryway a reality is a game changer for the Cemetery. This important project will have a very visible and lasting impact on the Cemetery and its surrounding neighborhood for generations to come.”
The Slagles’ contribution places the total funding for the entryway project at $40,000. Construction is expected to begin in the middle of this year lasting until the middle of 2016.
