On Wednesday night, the fastest ever Campbell County Fiscal Court meeting was held in Alexandria, clocking in at just under ten minutes long.

“This could be a world-record meeting,” joked Judge-Executive Steve Pendery.

  • There was a first reading of an amendment to the Campbell County Official Roads List to add Keating Drive to the list.

  • A resolution was unanimously approved by the Fiscal Court approving a Change Order to TMS Construction for additional work required during reconstruction of Keating Drive. On June 4, the Fiscal Court accepted the bid of TMS Construction in the amount of $190,947 for the project. TMS Construction requested a Change Order of $9,407 for additional work that was performed to complete the reconstruction.

  • A resolution was also passed authorizing Judge Pendery to execute a professional services agreement with Thelen Associates Inc. for $31.691 for technical consulting work. Thelen will investigate the landslides that are effecting County-maintained roads at seven different sites. Thelen will then follow up with a report on preliminary concepts to stabilize parts of the roadway at each site. Based on that report, the County will be able to plan for the appropriate repairs.

  • There was a motion to appoint Jacob Daly and Robert Latham to the position of police officer grade-one. They will first begin the training process which takes 18 days to complete before they start their everyday jobs.

  • The Campbell County Fall Clean-Up will be held on October 24 and 25 from 8 a.m. -5 p.m., and October 26 from 8 a.m. -4 p.m. at Pendery Park, Campbell County Police Station and the Campbell County Transportation Center. More information may be found at Campbell County’s website.
