Boone County and several local organizations are inviting residents to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a free community event later this month at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
The celebration, dubbed “Boone County Celebrates America,” is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, from 3 to 10 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, family activities, community booths and a fireworks display.
Boone County officials will be partnering with the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, Boone County Public Library and Boone County Historical Society to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Planned attractions include a fishing derby, a cruise-in, children’s games and activities, vendor and community booths, live music performances and fireworks to close out the evening.

Admission is free and open to the public.
