The mix of ice and snow falling on Sunday caused many accidents, traffic delays, and road closures across Northern Kentucky.
Â
I-275 was closed in both directions near the Kentucky 17/3L Highway exit after multiple accidents. The highway has since reopened.
Â
The Brent Spence Bridge was also troubled by the storm with at least one lane closed following an accident. Another accident hindered traffic on I-75 north at Erlanger.
Â
Traffic was also slow on I-75 between exit 181 (KY 18) and Buttermilk Pike.
Â
The Roebling Suspension Bridge has been closed due to ice since earlier this morning.
Â
Kenton County upgraded its Level One Snow Emergency to a Level Two Snow Emergency meaning that roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow and may be icy. Only motorists whose travel is necessary should be on the roadways.
Â
The National Weather Service downgraded its snow accumulation predictions to between one to two inches with more ice than originally expected.
Â
This post will be updated with the latest traffic information as it comes in.
