Three more district champions were crowned on Tuesday in Northern Kentucky.

Here’s how the action unfolded:

Lauren McIntosh pitched a complete game four-hitter and struck out 14 Grant County batters as the Lady Pioneers ended Grant County’s five year reign as district champs.

The Lady Pioneers (19-11) took advantage of an error, two walks and a wild pitch to plate two runs in the bottom of the third.

They added a run in the fifth on a Alli Fowler RBI single and two runs in the sixth on a Scarlett Cochran sacrifice fly RBI and a McIntosh RBI groundout. In McIntosh’s complete game, she tossed 92 pitches, 71 of them for strikes and faced only three batters over the minimum.

Grant County’s(8-22) Calleigh Hammons limited to Simon Kenton to just three hits in five innings, but five walks ended up catching up to her.

Both teams advance to the 8th Region tournament set to begin on Sunday. Simon Kenton will host their quarterfinal contest with the semifinals and championship to be played at the University of Louisville.

Anna Bezold kept a high-powered Campbell County offense in check as the Lady ‘Stangs won their first district title since 2016 and snapped the Camels district title streak at eight.

Bezold allowed just two hits, struck out six and walked four in the complete game effort.

Brossart (23-11) collected six hits, Rachel Shewmaker leading the way with two as they were aided by four Campbell County errors, giving them three unearned runs.

The Lady ‘Stangs plated two in the first and two in the second, Bezold doing the rest. The two runs in the first came via errors while Shewmaker’s RBI single in the second made it 3-0, an error on the same play making it 4-0.

Campbell County (21-8) made it 4-1 in the fourth on Mallory Fleckenstein’s fielder’s choice RBI. The Camels failed to get a runner to third base in the final three innings.

Both teams advance to the 10th Region tournament, slated to begin on Monday at Bracken County.
